Work has begun on £12.7m Thomas’s College London Project

We are delighted to be providing Cost Consultancy services on a new £12.7 million pound project for Thomas’s London Day Schools. The project will see a grade II listed historical campus transformed into Thomas’s College.

Set within five acres of landscaped gardens, the Richmond Hill site with will cater for 630 year 7-11 pupils, 126 sixth-form pupils and will accommodate 54 boarders.

Rooted in education since its creation, the main Oxbridge-style building was built by the methodist church in 1842 as a theological college. It continued to serve as a beacon of learning in 1976, when it became home to ‘Richmond, the American International University in London’ until the relocation of their premises in 2021.

Now an exciting part of the Thomas’s London Day Schools family, the prestigious project will refurbish and reconfigure several key buildings on the campus. Extensive works to the main building will create larger teaching spaces and refurbished boarding rooms. The Sir Cyril Taylor Library is set to be renovated to include study and exam areas, science labs, and an auditorium. The Red House will be repurposed as a dedicated study space for sixth form students, while Longley House will be transformed into a workshop and design studio for graphics and resistant materials.

The college will replace Thomas’s Putney Vale and is scheduled to open in 2025.
