Simon Worthy and Stephen Jopson retire from Synergy

On 1 October 2024, Senior Partner, Simon Worthy and Partner, Stephen Jopson both retired from Synergy.
Simon Worthy has been associated with the practice for 44 years. He joined in 1981 as a junior surveyor and over those years rose the ranks despite having a short spell with the Airports Authority, he has been a major influential figure and driving force in the development of Synergy. He took on the role of Senior Partner for nearly two decades and has assisted the practice grow through a number of acquisitions and has dealt with a number of industry challenges including most recently the pandemic.
He has supported clients with a wide variety of project work from being the commercial lead for UKPN building the electrical infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympics to the most recently developing 1200 new homes in a major redevelopment in Woking. He has been commissioned as an expert dealing with various disputes from the domestic party wall matter to the complex insurance reinstatement case.
Stephen Jopson joined the practice in 2002 and across his 22 years has passionately supported clients with a diverse range of projects in the education, healthcare, transportation, industrial and residential sectors. This includes the landmark project at RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science. Stephen has also been instrumental in driving forward Synergy’s staff training and development programme.
